New Year, New Us.
It’s the time of year when Sweetgreen and Equinox reign supreme—the start of a new year. Each year, we begin with a clean slate, a fresh set of vacation days, and an exciting sense of revival. It’s a tradition that we’ve grown to have a love-hate relationship with, at least for the 31 days in January.
Instead of setting ourselves up for broken promises to take our multivitamin and hit our 10,000 daily step goal, we’re giving ourselves something to look forward to. This year, we’re setting resolutions for travel.
Whether it’s embarking on an “Eat, Pray, Love” style journey or simply avoiding any chances of an appearance on @passengershaming, we’ve rounded up a few 2024 goals that are just as easy as they are exciting.
Step Outside Your Comfort Zone
We know this one is a bit cliché, but we firmly believe that true adventure lies beyond the familiar. Whether it’s trying an exotic local delicacy or conquering new heights from the basket of a hot air balloon, challenge yourself to do something that pushes your boundaries and broadens your horizons. At worst, you’ll return home with a great story to tell.
Conscious and Sustainable Travel
Who said sustainable travel has to mean skimping on comfort or luxury? With many travel providers shifting their focus to eco-friendly alternatives, it’s easier than ever to become a more responsible traveler. Opt for eco-friendly accommodations, support local businesses, and be strategic in planning your travels. This year is all about making memories, not footprints!
Maximizing Vacation Days
We don’t need to tell you how precious our numbered vacation days are. So don’t let them go to waste. Not every vacation has to be a two-week sabbatical to an exotic destination. A simple weekend away can sometimes be just what the doctor ordered!
Living in the Moment
A vacation provides the perfect opportunity to set an out-of-office and switch your phone to do not disturb. Instead of meticulously planning your next Instagram caption, take advantage of the opportunity to fully unplug. Use this time to disconnect and be present with the people and places around you.
Staying Flexible
As anyone who has passed through a major airport recently will tell you, travel can be chaotic. But this year, we’re rolling with the punches! Armed with travel insurance and a good attitude, we won’t let the little hiccups and mishaps derail our vacation. We will make the most of our trip, even in the face of unexpected delays, last-minute cancellations, and lost luggage.
