Why Visit Baltimore?
Recently the Avenue Two Travel leadership team held their annual forum in Baltimore and came back charmed! Here are their top reasons to visit:
The Sagamore Pendry Baltimore – Located on the water in Fells Point, the Sagamore Pendry Baltimore is an impressive re-imagination of a historic 1914 property on Recreation Pier. With a gorgeous bar and outside courtyard, the Pendry is the perfect home base for a Baltimore get away.
Foodies Rejoice – Within minutes of the Pendry is an amazing selection of restaurants, most located in cute historic buildings. Everything from casual pub grub to vegan to fresh crabs is yours for the tasting. Our favorite was the Thames Street Oyster House and it’s impressive seafood tower.
Live Music – Walking along the cobbled streets of Fells Point (leave the high heels home), you will encounter the sounds of live music pouring out of every other door way. Stop in and check it out. Don’t like it? Move on to the next spot.
Family Fun – Calling Baltimore home, the National Aquarium is arguably the best aquarium in the country and will easily entertain adults and children alike. We recommend the VIP Shark Alley tour. The Pendry even offers your little ones stuffed aquatic animals at check in and will place aquatic stickers on the windows of the room to set the tone for an undersea adventure.
Easy – A quick 2.5 hour drive from Philadelphia or a 45 – 110 minute drive from Washington DC area, Baltimore is an easy last minute decision when you want to explore something new and different and do it quickly.
